The lighthouse restoration and waterworks park improvements are all made through the dedication of our volunteers whom we name Keepers. Volunteers have donated countless hours, generous gifts, and critical expertise to make the lighthouse a true gem on the lakeshore. Please support us by simply becoming a member or getting more involved by volunteering.
Projects the conservancy has completed include:
Restoration of the lighthouse and installation at it’s current home.
Ongoing maintenance and insurance of the lighthouse.
Landscaping around Derby Pond.
Building the replica boathouse.
Significant financial and design contributions to the comfort station along with Friends of Port Clinton Parks and the City of Port Clinton.
Installation of the Keeper statue (and his loyal dog of course).
Addition of benches around the park.
Electricity for the Boathouse.
Installation of the “Historic Lighthouse” sign.
Creation of The Jeremy and Brand Family Picnic Grove near the cottonwood trees.
The Harrison Trail Memorial at the north end of Fulton Street is now maintained as part of the Conservancy’s responsibilities.
